My Mission

My mission is to promote, support and protect natural, safe and healthy birth through education and advocacy. I promise to provide you with all of the information you will need to make well-informed decisions for your labor, birth, breastfeeding, the postpartum period and early parenting. I believe that all women have the right to have satisfying births, gained by making informed birth choices.

"Lamaze education and practices are based on the best, most current medical evidence available. They can help reduce the use of unnecessary interventions and improve overall outcomes for mothers and babies." (Lamaze.org)

More about me

My journey into birth work began over 18 years ago, after experiencing difficulties breastfeeding my youngest child. That experience led me to become a Certified Breastfeeding Educator with Aviva College of Midwifery in 2008, and I’ve been supporting growing families ever since!

My Qualifications

-
Certified Childbirth Educator: I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE). I was initially certified with a faith based organization in 2011 and received my Lamaze credentials in 2013 after training with Judith Lothian, author of The Official Lamaze Guide.
-
Lactation Expertise: In 2015, I received lactation specific training at Montefiore Medical Center (Bronx, NY) facilitated by The Healthy Children's Center for Breastfeeding. I subsequently became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.
-
Years of experience: Before moving to Brevard County, Florida in 2017, I facilitated group Lamaze and breastfeeding classes for a busy Obstetric practice In New York City. I currently provide private sessions and lactation support for individual families throughout Brevard as well.

My Philosophy: Balanced & Evidence-Based

I am 100% committed to sharing evidence-based information only. I believe that a positive birth experience is built on knowledge and preparation.

Because my curriculum is rooted in the evidence-based Lamaze Six Healthy Birth Practices, my classes are never "anti-physician," "anti-intervention," or "anti-pain relief." I honor every family's personal choices. My role is to provide you with the full picture: Safe, evidence based information - so you can walk into your birth feeling informed, respected, and fully prepared.
